The Foodsmith Redefining Immersive Dining
Together with Sam Bompas, Harry Parr heads up Bompas & Parr, an experience design and creative studio of artists, architects, chefs, designers and strategists. Harry was studying architecture in London when he reconnected with Sam, a childhood friend involved in property and PR. The pair bonded over their love of food and drink, first launching into the news for their expertise in — you’ll never guess — jelly-making. Their still-gelatinous business has since grown into a full-fledged studio offering food and drink design, brand consultancy and immersive experiences (including a bouncy house of breasts called “Jump for Joy” and a punch bowl the size of a lake that guests rowed across before being served). Feeding minds and stomachs, their charm and energy is fed by rampant curiosity, a voracious appetite for knowledge and passion to inspire and create joy. Guests attending Bompas & Parr events are enchanted into discovery — and converted to brand ambassadors — as they experience genre-defining projects.
We’ve all thought about who our dream dinner guests would be and AI Banquet brought that party question to life. At the NYC event in 2022, attendees dined alongside British figures William Shakespeare, Mary Seacole, Charles Darwin and Agatha Christie. How? An AI-fed script about each icon was shared with a troupe of actors who improvised in real-time. And that’s not the only culinary adventure Bompas & Parr has cruise directed. Future of Food: Epochal Banquet was a foodie journey across space and time — diners tasted offerings made using NASA’s technique to collect comet dust, plus glow-in-the-dark courses and flavor-changing desserts. For Forces of Nature, diners enjoyed a dinner that was smoked, roasted and grilled across a stream of molten lava.
