A Native artist who has exhibited at the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian in Washington D.C. and New York and whose work is part of the permanent collection at the Heard Museum in Phoenix, the Eiteljorg in Indianapolis, and the Wheelwright Museum in Santa Fe, Tom Farris is pushing indigenous representation into bold new territory through experiential storytelling. As Executive Producer of "Indigenous Pop Expo (IPX)" in Oklahoma City, he oversaw every detail of a three-day event spotlighting talent across film, art, music and gaming — drawing 2,500 attendees and building a space where Native creators could lead the narrative. And as a Design Consultant for the "IWOW" conference in Chapel Hill, he facilitated conversations on the future of Indigenous art and tech, shaping how Native voices show up in digital spaces. Tom’s work, like his art, challenges the traditional Western version of Native art, spotlighting Indigenous culture as a driving force in contemporary art and innovation.
