What is Experiential anyway?

A recent title on LinkedIn read: Experienced Experiential Experiencer.

Although tongue in cheek, it points out one of the challenges in characterizing our industry. The term “experience” is confusing. Rather than just a one-size fits all synonym for “event,” business-wise as it can mean so many other things like customer experience, user experience.

So here we are, in the center of an enormous industry, projected to be $3.6T in the next five years and with more than 28M people working in this field — and very few actually can describe what we do.
